Squash World No.1 Nick Matthew will top the 2014 Canary Wharf Classic draw when the PSA International 50 event gets underway at the iconic East Wintergarden in London on Monday March 24.
Matthew, who'll be aiming for his fourth Canary Wharf title in five years, leads a mouth-watering 16-man draw which includes five of the world's top 10 players including Egyptian former World No.1 Karim Darwish, who'll be making his tournament debut in the already sold-out event.
English No.2 and World No.5 James Willstrop, the tournament's second seed, will be aiming to win his fifth Canary Wharf title but with German World No.11 Simon Rosner and English top 10 duo Peter Barker and Daryl Selby in the bottom half of the draw, Willstrop will have his work cut out to reach the final on Friday March 28.
"The quality of the draw this year is outstanding and it comes as no surprise that the event was sold out with eight weeks before the action gets underway," said event director Tim Garner.
"With three former World No.1s and a host of national champions within the draw, the fans who have purchased their tickets in advance are going to be in for a real treat.
"We've been running this event for 11 years now and it continues to go from strength to strength and I'm relishing the prospect of seeing it all get underway on March 24."
