Tournament of Champions winner Nour El Sherbini ensured her hopes of winning back-to-back PSA World Series tournaments began without any hitches as she saw off Mexican challenger Samantha Teran 3-0 in the first round of the 2016 Windy City Open.
El Sherbini produced the best squash of her career to triumph and lift the most prestigious title of her career to date in New York in January and back on American soil and in her first competitive tournament since then she will be hoping to strike gold again this week in Chicago and she controlled proceedings throughout her opening encounter, rarely looking troubled as she eased into proceedings.
“This was my first match since the ToC final so I was just trying to get into the mood of the tournament and the rhythm of the court,” said El Sherbini.
“She was getting a lot of shots back and made it hard for me physically but I was able to find my shots in the end and that was pleasing.
“I’m not putting any pressure on me. I’m just enjoying playing my squash and hopefully that way things will just keep working for me.”
 Nour El Sherbini (EGY) bt [Q] Samantha Teran (MEX) 3-0: 12-10, 11-7, 11-5 (32m)
