Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam will take on Hong Kong’s Ho Tze-Lok in the final of the Women’s Malaysian Tour Squash I, PSA W5 tournament after they claimed respective wins against top seed Vanessa Chu and Aika Azman in the last four.
Subramaniam had been in majestic form throughout the early stages of the event and had failed to drop a solitary game as she swept to victory against Ooi Kah Yan and Chan Yiwen to secure her semi-final berth against title favourite Chu.
The World No.89 was met with little resistance though and comfortably strode past the number one seed courtesy of an 11-5, 11-6, 11-2 win to stay in with a chance of capturing her first ever PSA World Tour crown.
Tze-Lok, meanwhile, came up against Azman, who had dumped out second seed Carmen Lee in the previous round. Despite being cheered on by a partizan home crowd, Azman was unable to follow up her quarter-final clash and Tze-Lok took the victory in three to set up a final showdown with Subramaniam.
