Australia’s World No.64 Rex Hedrick and Hong Kong’s World No.56 Vanessa Chu have been named the men’s and women’s PSA Players of the Month for August.
Hedrick secured back-to-back titles last month at the Australian Open and Tarra Kia Bega Open.
The Australian overcame Switzerland’s Dimitri Steinmann in straight games, 11-4, 12-10, 11-5, to take the Australian Open title on home soil, becoming the first ever man to win a PSA Challenger Tour title.

Hedrick then backed this up with victory over compatriot Joshua Larkin by an 11-5, 7-11, 11-4, 11-8 margin in 72 minutes to seal the Tarra Kia Bega Open title and the 13th PSA title of his career.
Meanwhile, Chu takes the women’s accolade after she claimed the spoils at the Squash Melbourne Open when she defeated Australia’s Christine Nunn – who had won five of her last seven tournaments.
Chu came from one game down to defeat Nunn by an 8-11, 11-9, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5 scoreline in 49 minutes to win her sixth PSA title.
Her last title win came earlier in the year at the Contrex Challenge Cup tournament when she defeated Ho Tze-Lok.
