England’s Declan James and France’s Gregoire Marche both enjoyed round two wins at the River Club of New York as they moved through to the last 16 stage at the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions.
James overcame Hong Kong’s Tsz Fung Yip in four games to reach the last 16 for the first time in his career and will face former World No.1 Karim Abdel Gawad for a place in the quarter finals of the PSA Platinum event.
Meanwhile, Marche was twice forced to hold off a comeback from Egypt’s Zahed Salem as he threatened to take out the World No.14 in a closely contested battle.
Marche will now face either World No.2 Mohamed ElShorbagy or Australia’s Ryan Cuskelly in the next round.
