Egypt’s Tarek Momen and New Zealand’s Paul Coll will line up in a repeat of November’s PSA Men’s World Championship final later today after they booked their places in the title decider of the Troilus Gold Canada Cup, PSA World Tour Silver event in Toronto.
Momen axed Coll in straight games when they met in the final of the sport’s biggest tournament three months ago, and the pair will lock horns for the eighth time on the PSA World Tour after respective semi-final wins over Peru’s Diego Elias and France’s Mathieu Castagnet.
World No.3 Momen battled to a 3-2 victory over World No.7 Diego Elias, winning 8-11, 11-6, 13-11, 10-12, 11-8 after a gruelling 98-minute contest at the Cambridge Club.
Coll, meanwhile, had a more straightforward 11-9, 11-8, 11-8 triumph over No.8 seed Castagnet, and the Kiwi will now look to avenge his defeat to Momen in Qatar. Momen has won four of their seven previous meetings, but the pair tend to take it in turns to win, meaning Coll will fancy his chances after spending almost 40 mins less on court during his semi-final fixture.
The final will take place at 18:30 (GMT-5). Live streaming is available on the Canada Cup YouTube channel
