“I think today I can say that I am injury free, which is big for me,” said Aumard on her YouTube channel.
“Four months ago I woke up one day with a sore foot, I did not imagine it would take more than 14 weeks to recover from it.
“The MRI confirmed a tear on my Peroneus Brevis Tendon and some fluid at the level of the Lateral Malleolus. A few weeks later, the foot specialist confirmed a damaged nerve in my foot (neuroma)… I had to learn to deal with it.
“I couldn't do anything, I couldn't walk, I couldn't go on the bike because my foot was just too painful after ten minutes on it. I had to be patient and give time to my body to recover, which was not easy.
“I was lonely at home during that time because of COVID, I wasn't able to see my friends or my family, so it was very challenging mentally.
“There is no shame, I cried a lot. What was hard was I didn't really know when my body was going to feel better, so I had to be patient.
“It took me time to come back on any social media platform. People even thought I was pregnant, but I wasn't and I'm not, just injured and I needed time to accept and digest the injury.”
