PSA photographer Nathan Clarke has been named the winner in the ‘Racquet Sports’ category at the 2021 World Sports Photography Awards.
The World Sports Photography Awards are for professional, semi-professional sport photographers and specialist sports photographic agencies and included images taken between January 1st 1995 and December 31st 2020.
Clarke captured an iconic image of New Zealand's Paul Coll diving in desperation for the ball as Egypt's Mostafa Asal celebrates in the background during their thrilling match at the CIB Black Ball Squash Open in December 2020.
That image was picked as the winner in the 'Racquet Sports' category, which also included another squash image in bronze position by photographer Tom Jenkins taken at the Commonwealth Games.

“It’s an honour to be named alongside some of the best photographers in the world, but to have a photograph selected as a winning entry is beyond expectation,” said Clarke.
“I am very fortunate to be able to do something I love for a living and work in a sport that has come to mean a lot to me, so this is just an extra little bit of icing on the cake especially after what we have all gone through in the past year.
“And if me winning an award like this can help bring a few more eyeballs to the world of squash, then even better!”
