England’s Georgina Kennedy and Egypt’s Aly Hussein have been named the PSA Challenger Tour Players of the Month for June following their impressive months.
Kennedy saw her month go from strength-to-strength as she reigned victorious at both the Sumner Malik Memorial and Pontefract Ladies 2 tournaments.
The Harvard graduate has already displayed some impressive performances this last month, particularly at England Squash organised events, and the 24-year-old has transferred that form to the PSA Challenger Tour.
Kennedy was the No.8 seed at the Sumner Malik Memorial event and defeated the likes of Torrie Malik and Grace Gear to claim her first PSA title.
She then carried on her purple patch at the Pontefract Ladies 2 event, where she was unseeded, and defeated top seeds Emily Whitlock and Anna Kimberley to make it back-to-back titles.
Meanwhile, Hussein is named the men’s Challenger Tour Player of the Month after all securing his maiden PSA title in June.
The Egyptian reigned victorious at the Odense Open and in doing so also secured his place at the PSA World Championships in Chicago.
Hussein was unseeded at the event and beat top seed Japan’s Ryosei Kobayashi in the quarter finals before axing Moustafa El Sirty and Farkas Balazs in the semis and final respectively.
Hussein will join Spain’s Cristina Gomez and USA’s Faraz Khan and Lucie Stefanoni at the PSA World Championships this month after they all also secured their places at the prestigious event through qualification.
