Tesni Evans in action at the 2020-2021 PSA World Championships in Chicago

Ibrahim and Evans Withdraw From CIB Egyptian Open

Egypt’s Youssef Ibrahim and Welsh No.1 Tesni Evans have both withdrawn from the upcoming CIB Egyptian Open, which begins on Friday afternoon.

World No.13 Evans has had to pull out due to illness, while the young Egyptian is out of the Platinum event through a knee injury.

Evans was the No.8 seed for the CIB Egyptian Open, and now Rowan Elaraby replaces her and receives a first round bye. Canada’s Danielle Letourneau moves up into the 9/16 bracket and also received a first round bye.

Frenchwoman Enora Villard move into the 17/32 bracket, replacing Letourneau, and will now face Egypt’s Jana Shiha, with Czech No.1 Anna Serme coming into the draw, and facing Egypt’s Farida Mohamed in the opening round of the tournament.

Due to Ibrahim’s withdrawal from the event, Malaysia’s Eain Yow Ng moves into the 9/16 seeding bracket and now receives a first round bye.

Shahjahan Khan replaces the Malaysian in the 17/32 bracket and plays Mazen Gamal, with Jamaican No.1 Christopher Binnie coming into the draw and he will face Egypt’s Karim El Hammamy.
