Pakistan’s Tayyab Aslam made his PSA World Tour bow in 2011 and broke into the world’s top 100 in March 2014.
His won his first title six months later at the Amman Squash Open, prevailing over Jordan’s Ahmad Al-Saraj in four. He almost doubled his title tally in June 2015 but narrowly lost out to Piedro Schweertman in the final of the Open International D’Angers.
Aslam continued to reach the last four of tournaments, doing so at the City of Greater Bendigo International the same year, and both the COAS International Squash Championship and Khoozestan Squash Open in 2016. He also finished runner-up at the I.R.Iran Navy Squash Open that season. The Pakistani player took his second win on the Tour at the Kish Squash Association Persian Gulf in 2017, before winning again on the Malaysian Squash Tour in 2018.
He also won the Jubilee Insurance Company Ltd. Pakistan Squash Championships Circuit III and the Faletti’s Hotel International Men and Women Squash Championship event that year, before taking victory at the FMC Pvt Ltd International Men’s Squash Championship in 2019. Thanks to those performances, Aslam broke into the top 50 in the World Rankings for the first time in his career in the summer of 2019.
The Pakistani No.1 won four times on the Challenger Tour between the start of the 2019/2020 season and the end of 2020, all coming on home soil. He was victorious at the Pakistan International Squash Tournament twice, in both 2019 and 2020, and also won the 13th DG Rangers Sindh Squash Championship and the BISL international Squash Championship.
He also finished runner up at the 14th CNS International Squash Championship, along with making it through to the quarter-finals in the Malaysian Open and through to the last 16 at the Troilus Gold Canada Cup.
