Donna Urquhart is the cousin of Men's Australian No.1 Cameron Pilley and is one of the leading female Australians on the PSA World Tour.
She excelled at junior level, picking up 5 Australian Junior titles in addition to claiming a runner-up spot at the 2003 British Junior Open. Her first Tour titles came in 2007 and just three years later she broke into the world's top 20 to sit amongst the elite players in Women's squash.
2012 saw her take the Crocodile Challenge Cup crown before she followed that up with a title at the Victoria Open two years later. Eight injury-plagued months on the Tour followed for Urquhart who, after dropping out of the world’s top 30, returned to form with her 9th Tour title at the Seattle Open in March 2015 with a 3-1 victory over Liu Tsz-Ling in the final.
Urquhart reached the final of the Courtcare Open two months later and broke back into the world’s top 20 in December 2016. She went on to appear in the final of the Texas Open in 2017, where she was beaten over five games by Annie Au.
The Australian beat top seed Joelle King in the previous round to set up the final, where she fought back to take the battle to the fifth game, however Au managed to seal the victory. She then made the quarter finals of the British Open, Macau Open and the Oracle NetSuite Open, before winning the Monte Carlo Classic at the end of the calendar year.
Lobban then took victory in the Cincinnati Gaynor Cup, beating Victoria Lust in the final. The Australian then went on to win gold in the Commonwealth Games mixed doubles, alongside Cameron Pilley. She then spent almost a year on the sidelines following the 2018 FS Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships through injury, before returning at the J.P. Morgan China Squash Open to start off her 2019-2020 campaign.
The Aussie dropped as low as World No.67, but has been able to battle he way back inside the top 25 thanks to a host of good results. She reached the last eight at the HKFC International Squash Open, Monte Carlo Squash Classic, and Carol Weymuller Open, along with semi-finals at the Nash Cup and the Detroit Pro Classic. Lobban won the Edinburgh Sports Club Open in February 2020 before making it into the last 16 of the Windy City Open presented by the Walter Family.
