Tong Tsz-Wing joined the PSA World Tour in 2008 and has risen up the World Rankings ever since, becoming a consistent member of the world’s top 50 in recent years.
She finished runner-up in her first final at the Barossa Valley Open in 2013, where she lost to New Zealand’s Amanda Landers-Murphy. Tsz-Wing then had a streak of runner-up titles throughout 2013 and 2014 when she fell short of the main prize at the Malaysian Squash Tour 8th Leg and Malaysian Tour Squash Circuit 1 – which saw her go onto break into the World’s top 50 for the first time in her career in 2013.
However, soon she secured her first title at the Top End Open in 2014 when she beat Lotte Eriksen in straight games. Tsz-Wing continued to contest her way to final stages before sealing her next title when she beat Rachel Arnold over five games in the final of the Malaysian Tour Squash V the following year.
Back-to-back titles followed in 2016. Tsz-Wing secured victory at the IJM 4th Penang Women’s Open, where she once again came up against Arnold in a final, with it being the first meeting of the pair since that final in the Malaysian Tour Squash V almost a year prior.
Tsz-Wing came through a tough five-game encounter over Arnold, after she made it to the final without losing a game. She then went onto win the Tasmanian Open, where she defeated Vanessa Chu to win her second successive PSA World Tour title.
More success came in 2016 for Tsz-Wing as she lifted the China Squash Challenge Cup beating Sarah Cardwell over four games in the final. Tsz-Wing she also went onto win the Malaysian Squash Tour VIII in 2017 when she came through in four against Andrea Lee.
She also reached the semi finals of the Beijing Squash Challenge, where she lost out to Sivasangari Subramaniam in five, and the Q Squash Ltd Queensland Open. At the Pacific Toyota Cairns Squash International, Tsz-Wing made the final, but was beaten by Tamika Saxby. She then won another event on the Malaysian Tour at the start of 2018, before two semi final appearances later in the year.
The Hongkonger reached the final of the Steel City South Australian Open in her first appearances of the 2019-2020 campaign. She won the Haining Squash Open just a month later, before also reaching the last eight of the Jaipur Leg of the HCL SRFI Indian Tour at the start of 2020.
In the trio of events on Hong Kong soil at the start of 2021, Tong made at least the last eight in all of them, including reaching the final of the Hong Kong Football Club PSA. Later in the year, she also made the semi-finals of the Capra Baerum Open, before reaching the quarter finals of the London Open.
